Facebook on Mobile Statistics

facebook on mobileBack in May 2011, Dan Zarella published statistics about the use of Facebook on Mobile devices.

From those users with open privacy settings, he took a sample of 70,000 Facebook public posts, including videos, links and photos and discovered that almost 33% of those posts were created from mobile devices. And more than 18% of those were through the mobile Facebook website, m.facebook.com. The big three mobile phone platforms – Android, iPhone and Blackberry were all around the 4% mark with their own Facebook on mobile apps.

It will be interesting to see how those figures have changed for this year, bearing in mind the huge increase of smartphone users.

Thanks for the link to Dan Zarella’s mobile stats.

For info, I have done some local data gathering for Facebook mobile (users within 25 miles of Winchester, UK) and blogged about it in case you’re interested:

Hey Mark! This is really interesting stuff. Thank you. Always happy to receive guest posts :) I also approve of the fact that you managed to produce the blog post without burning your dinner. As a regular eater of charcoal, I applaud your decision to eat not prune :P I did try to comment on the post itself but WordPress.com hates me today – jo
