How To Unlink Your Twitter and Identity Connection Accounts on Klout
Whilst using Klout earlier today I discovered that I needed to learn how to unlink your accounts on Klout.
Klout is rather fun. It’s a measure of how much influence you have on other social media platform users and also of how much they have on you.
In an attempt to improve my Klout rating, I was linking up all my own personal accounts but I had forgotten that I was logged in to one of my clients’ gmail accounts. When I clicked the link g+ button, it automatically connected me to my client’s g+ account.
And it was not immediately obvious how to unlink the damn thing. Fortunately for me, Google provided me with two sources for the answer.

Social Strand gave me the clue about how to unlink your accounts on Klout. So I went into the little cog wheel at the top of the page and found the connection networks tab and set about unlinking my Google+ account.

But then I noticed that, whilst I could perform the same function for all the other social media platforms, there was no ‘unlink’ facility next to the Twitter account.
That’s when the other Google offering from Social Media Mogul on how to unlink accounts on Klout was worth its weight in gold. If you need to unlink your Twitter account but you have set up the Klout profile to allow you to log in using that method, you won’t see the unlink button.
Instead you have to go into the settings section of your Twitter account – as I found out when there was an attempt to hack my Twitter account recently – and from there to the Apps tab. Scroll down until you see the permission for Klout and revoke access. Log out of Twitter and then try to log back in to Klout. You are now disconnected.
