PayPal Phishing Scam

paypal-scamMore email spam problems.

When I first saw the email title about my Paypal account being limited, I was in a panic. My mouse hovered over the link and then sanity kicked in…

I’m not one of the big internet marketing accounts, I have small amounts of funds going in and out on a regular basis but I don’t think there’s anything to flag up my account for limiting.

So, instead of clicking the link, I typed paypal.com into the browser and went into my account that way. As I had suspected, there was no sign of any problem.

Of course it was a phishing scam and I had been moments away from giving a fraudster my log-in information.

Closer inspection revealed the real give-away in the first sentence:

“He brings to our attention that your Paypal billing information are obsolete”

I don’t think so!
